I first met Kevin Stanton and the guys from the New Zealand band ‘Mi-Sex’ back in the early 80’s in Melbourne and Brisbane, when I was a raw rock journalist for ‘Roadrunner’ music magazine.

Kev and I became close friends and we collaborated on an unproduced screenplay called ‘Young Maniacs’ (1983) based on his song of the same name, the stage shows: ‘Rebel Without A Cause’ (1985) and ‘Shipwreck’ (1988) and also some short films in which he acted: ‘In From the Sea’ and ‘XOS: A Cry for Help’. We lost track of each other in the mid to late 90’s but reconnected not too long ago. We are still firm friends and he is much loved and respected today as he was back then. Most of the images here were taken by me at the ABC Studios in Rippon Lea for an episode of ‘Countdown’ — the song: ‘Falling In and Out With You’.
